Saturday I spent the day at Governors Island at an M.I.A. curated event called Hard Fest. The whole day was a blast, even though it was  about 100 degrees. The line up was pretty stunning but the highlights were definitely Rye Rye ( the self proclaimed MIA prodigy), Theophilus London,and Die Antwoord. Unfortunately, M.I.A. was the low point of the whole event. For reasons unknown the sound was horrible, there was no set list and way too much downtime, and a freak rain storm cut the whole thing short. I was still on team M.I.A. until I saw that she spit on a photographer.

The evening was finished up with a trip to Brooklyn to see Sting Ray Sam as part of the Rooftop Film Series.

My last trip to New York was jam packed with good times. I attended F5 Fest and it was a blast. Great speakers and very inspirational.I especially enjoyed the talk by Doug Jaeger and Shy the Sun. They were inceredibly interesting individuals and they had a lot of great advice.

I also had time to fit in a few touristics activeties such as a trip to the Restaurant from Seinfeld and a free show at Columbia.

7 days and counting for  F5 Fest in NYC!

This weekend Kendall College of Art and Design’s AIGA participated in a Canstruction competition. It went very smoothly thanks to some truly great members. We rocked awesome (*free) yellow AIGA tees and were the first team to complete their structure. With over 10 volunteers we were done in only 5 hours!

The Kendall College of Art and Design Alumni Association presents the second, in a three part film series this Thursday at Wealthy Theatre. The first film was so much fun I can’t wait for Alice!
